7 pm - Friday August 19th - WORLD MUSIC Summer Camp Students and Kumbana in Concert

Come to the Hall and get warmed up for the big day tomorrow. This free admission concert will feature students from the second week of our World Music Summer Camp showing off their skills with Marimbas, drums and dance. Then, the band Kumbana, which includes two of the camp instructors will take to the stage and fill the Hall with African rhythms and melodies.

47th Annual Hi Neighbour Day - Saturday, August 20th 2016

8:00am - 10am - PANCAKE BREAKFAST in the Hall

Served up by our fine Volunteer Fire Department - pancakes, sausages and all the trimmings. Bring the whole family, bring a friend, meet our dedicated men and women in blue who volunteer to help us all. The best way to start a great Hi Neighbour Day!

9 am - 2 pm - ARTS & CRAFTS DISPLAY

In the Old Fire Hall, right next to the Hall - a show of fine work done by Erringtonians of all ages. If you'd like to help, or display your work, call Paula Goodman at (250)248-5724.


The Original Farmers Market in this area, now it its 44th year! In the Community Park across from the Hall - fresh produce, local crafts, great food, coffee, sticky buns and lots of atmosphere. The lively "Mohr Masala" from Port Alberni will entertain with some tunes from the Community Stage. For information on Market stall rentals, call Market Manager Kait Macdonald at (250)586-0099.

On the field, next to the Market, come and watch the fun as wheeled Zucchinis race down the ramp and over the jump to glory or collision. Lots of fun. If you want to race 'your'Zucchini, better check out the rules and regulations, available Saturdays at the Market.


The Biggest Little Parade around - from beside the old school site on Grafton, round the corner and down Errington Road to the Hall. Kids - decorate your bike, parade a pet - adults, community groups, or local businesses create a float and join in! No need to register - just meet on Memorial Road next to the old school site before 12:30, ready to go.

1:00 pm - HI NEIGHBOUR LUNCH and free CONCERT in the Park

Follow the Parade down to the Park, have some lunch, set up your deck chair in front of the Stage and get ready for the afternoon show featuring "Kutapira" from Vancouver, with their great world music beat.

10:00 am - 1:30 pm - GOODS AND SERVICES SILENT AUCTION in the Park

Auction items will be on view in the Market Pavillion and ready for your bidding during the Market. From home-made wine, to deluxe dinners, to firewood or manure for your garden, there's something for everyone at the auction. Join in the bidding! To end the day, an all ages dance featuring the the great cover sounds of local group, "The Revolving Doors", Come and dance with friends kids and neighbours. As a special 'Thank You' for all the community support, a ticket to the dance will only cost you $15! Tickets at Cranky Dog in Parksville, Heaven on Earth in Qualicum or Errington General Store. Kids tickets at the door.

PLEASE NOTE: Proceeds from these events pay for the repair and maintenance of the Errington War Memorial Hall. The Hall, the Old Fire Hall and the Community Park are maintained by the Errington War Memorial Hall Association, a registered non-profit society and a registered charity.
